Easy French Toast Recipe!


This easy French toast recipe, with many exciting variations, will really knock your socks off! Makes for a delicious breakfast or incredible dessert! Enjoy!

Easy French Toast Recipe:


Pains Perdus… This French classic deserves its fame! Makes everyone smile, each and every time! And, there are just so many ways to add to this simple recipe, so be sure to read through the delicious variations at the end.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 5-10 minutes

Ingredients: (4-6 people)

2 cups Milk
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
2 Eggs
3 1/2 oz. Butter
12 Slices French Country Bread (or other bread, always best if day old)
1/2 Vanilla Bean, Seeds Scraped (or 1/2 tsp. extract)
Cinnamon (powder)
Powdered Sugar

How to Make It:

1. Warm up milk and 3/4 cup sugar and vanilla. Bring to a light boil and then remove from heat and let cool off.
2. Cut bread into fairly thick slices.
3. Whisk eggs with the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar.
4. Heat butter in a large saucepan. Dip each slice of bread into the milk and then into the eggs. Cook on each side until browned.
5. Place cooked French toast on a plate and sprinkle with powdered sugar and cinnamon. Serve warm!
Voilà!

Tip: If you want the whole process to go even faster, or if you are cooking for many people, you can also bake the French toast. Heat oven to 450°F and cook for 6 minutes on each side.

Of course, you can't go wrong with a high quality maple syrup!
Any fruit sauce (strawberry, blueberry, pineapple, cherry, etc.) is always a nice touch.
Any fresh fruit as well!
My favorite is to sauté apple slices in butter and top with toasted almond slivers.
Don't forget about ice cream... and of course whipped cream!
